Get ready to connect with nature and learn about the fantastic Turkey Tail mushroom with a stroll through the beautiful Markeaton Park.People have used Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) for over 2000 years for its possible immune-boosting properties. Tinctures of Turkey Tail were commonly found in health shops here in the UK. However, a new regulation has relabelled Turkey Tail as a novel food, meaning you won't find this in shops any more. Foraging and personal use of Turkey Tail is legal, and we are encouraging it with this walk, where you will learn how to identify, forage, and use this wonderful fungus.
This event is perfect for nature lovers, fungi fans, families, and anyone looking to learn about and immerse themselves in the great outdoors.
We will be gathering at Markeaton Car Park at 12:50 PM for a 13:00 PM start, we will then begin our walk around the park where you will be guided to the natural world around you. Learn names and facts about the mushrooms under your feet, and even above your head!
