About this Event
A day of music, speeches and art centred around Turkish, Kurdish and Syrian performers and artists. There will be art stalls where you can buy prints, original artwork, jewellery, knitted hats, zines and more. There will be live music (including Turkish and Kurdish musicians) as well as speeches with updates from the ground so you can find out about what's happening in Turkey and Syria right now and how you can help. There will also be delicious homemade Middle-Eastern food including börek, dolma, gözleme, hummus and more.
This event was fully organised by Kurdish and Turkish university students - it will be student friendly and accessible to a diverse audience, but also a community space for members of the Turkish/Kurdish/Syrian communities to gather in a space for support and solidarity. Anyone from any background is welcome, but if you are coming as an ally, please be respectful of the mourning our communities are going through right now.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will be sent directly to earthquake victims and will go towards providing essential resources such as food, clothes and blankets to the survivors of the earthquake. Cash, card and Paypal payment options will be available for the artwork and food.
