Tummy Monster (15) / Screening and Director’s Workshop with Ciaran Lyons

We’re delighted to welcome Ciaran Lyons to The Pyramid for a screening of his darkly comic surreal tragedy, Tummy Monster, with a special pre-screening Director’s Workshop.

When a narcissistic tattoo artist (Lorn Macdonald) gets an unexpected visit from a celebrity client (Orlando Norman), a seemingly innocent selfie request causes the night to spiral into a bizarre and devastating game of psychological warfare.

Tummy Monster was shot on a micro-budget in just 5 days, entirely in Glasgow. It’s picked up awards and rave reviews at home and internationally and has been nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for best Feature Film. We’re very excited (and just a bit scared) to screen it as part of our Film Programme. Ciaran Lyons will also host an in-person workshop aimed at those who are interested in filmmaking on a budget. Open to all, and ideal for film students or those who have some experience or interest in making short films, participants will hear about Ciaran’s approach and there’ll be plenty of time for discussion and questions.

Tummy Monster has won Best European Feature Film at Lund Fantastic Film Festival, Best Feature Film, and Best Lead Performance for Lorn Macdonald at Spirit of Independence Film Festival, and has been nominated to Best Feature Film at the 2025 Scottish BAFTAs

Age 15+ for the workshop, under 18s accompanied by an adult. Film is rated 15.
