Today, it’s both a working recording studio and a treasure trove of music history. Inside, you’ll find a remarkable collection of Leon Russell memorabilia, including rare artifacts, personal items, and even his only known self-portrait. With private docent-led tours, you’ll be immersed in stories of rock legends, influential sessions, and the magic that continues to echo through the studio walls. Don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a live recording in action — The Church Studio is as alive today as it was in its golden era. As a special treat, enjoy live classic rock music from noon to 1 p.m., adding the perfect soundtrack to your visit. After feeding the soul, it’s time to feed the body with a delicious buffet lunch at Bourbon Street Café, located in the heart of downtown Tulsa. The afternoon continues with a visit to the powerful and inspiring Bob Dylan Center and the Woody Guthrie Center, two iconic institutions honoring America’s greatest folk poets and storytellers. Walk through immersive exhibits, handwritten lyrics, unreleased recordings, and rare photographs that chronicle the lives and legacies of these music giants. This self-guided experience invites you to explore at your own pace and reflect on the impact of music as a force for change, truth, and unity. As the sun begins to set, we board our bus for a relaxing ride back home — but not before a comfort stop at the Tonkawa Pilot Travel Center, perfect for stretching your legs and grabbing a quick snack.
