Tuesday KIZZ 8-Week Kizomba Cycle!Every Tuesday Night –Improvers & Beginner Classes + Social

Join the Tuesday KIZZ team for an exciting 8-week Progressive Kizomba and Urban Kiz cycle! We’re bringing you back-to-back classes for both intermediate and beginner levels, followed by a lively social to practice and connect with the community.

Kizomba and Semba Semba and Kizomba are cultural partner dances from Angola, Africa. Kizomba translates to the word "party" in Kimbundu. Its roots stem from the dance Semba. Semba is the mother of all three styles and is characterized by it's outward joyful energy. Kizomba is influenced in its flavor and motion from Semba. Music associated with Kizomba is often energetic, percussive with a warm combination of instrumentals and vocals. In both Semba and Kizomba partners hold are centered on grounded connection. The signature pattern of movement is focused on circular shapes. Connection is key to learning how to smoothly glide around the dance floor with your partner!

7:30 PM – 8:30 PM - Kizomba Improvers: Dive into more advanced options within Kizomba. This class will build on connection skills and explore deeper partner dynamics, creative footwork variations, and styling techniques that give you freedom and variety in your dance. Prior Kizomba experience required.

8:45 PM - 9:45 PM - Beginner Kizomba: New to Kizomba? This class focuses on connection and understanding the fundamental movements that make Kizomba unique. Learn essential steps, smooth body flow, and the grounding technique needed to move comfortably and confidently on the dance floor.

9:45 PM - - 11:00 PM - Social Dance Practice: Practice your new skills in a relaxed setting, connect with fellow dancers, and enjoy the rhythm and vibe of Kizomba!

All levels welcome: Our cycle is crafted to accommodate everyone, from beginners to experienced dancers, building up skills progressively each week.

New to Kizomba? Starting with our beginner class is recommended for a smooth experience. Starters are recomended to drop in before the second half of the cycle.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to start of class to check Highly encourage bringing shoes with bottoms that will allow you to slide easily across hardwood floor. Suede bottom dance shoes, heels or flats without rubber bottoms. Sneakers not advised.
