About this Event
Did you know UVA’s chiller plants produce enough cooling each year to freeze over 20 billion popsicles? Come tour one of UVA’s hidden chiller plants and learn how campus-scale cooling keeps the University humming while significantly reducing energy and water use. We look forward to seeing you. (Exact meeting location will be emailed to you in a follow-up email)
More about Infrastructure Month
This October we are going behind the scenes at UVA. Behind every light switch, lab experiment, and workout are people, pipes and processes that make it all possible. Join us this Campus Sustainability Month, October 2025, for a series of free events that will allow UVA students, faculty, and staff to get to know energy, waste, and other key infrastructure at the University. From pipes underground to solar panels on rooftops, we’ll foster a deeper appreciation for what keeps our Grounds running day in and day out!
