Ryan Hanson has his BA in Music from Western Oregon University and has been teaching private lessons on several different instruments for over fifteen years. He formerly taught at Northwest School of Music in Salem and now runs Music Lessons with Ryan, LLC. He's performed and competed with multiple collegiate marching bands, jazz bands, wind ensembles, choirs, and men's a capella groups in Missouri and Oregon. Outside of collegiate ensembles, Ryan has toured through dozens of US states performing with bands from a wide variety of genres, entertaining crowds with saxophone, guitar, bass, piano, and voice. Currently he feels most at home singing and playing his mandolin in the bluegrass and old-time styles and hopes to make this a central part of his career in music performance and education.
Gage Carter is a professional musician and music educator in the Willamette Valley. He grew up in Alaska, where he discovered his love for music and began busking, gigging, and teaching at age 16. He has studied and performed various styles of music including Bluegrass, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Blues, Folk, Mariachi, and many others. Gage studies music at Western Oregon University and plans to graduate with a Bachelors of Music in the winter of 2025. Upon graduation, he plans to continue playing music professionally and educating the next generation of musicians.
Mason Akers is currently attending Western Oregon University majoring In music composition. Mason is working towards a career in film and video game scoring. He is primarily a Bass Player and Percussionist while dabbling in Piano, Guitar and has started taking Trombone lessons. He has played in a wide variety of groups of diverse styles like Marching Bands, Drumline, Percussion Ensemble, Big Band, Latin Jazz, Jazz Choir, and Rock Bands. Outside of his academic ensembles, he plays with rock band “Interstate-5”, jazz Quartet “Molly and The Berries” and occasionally plays with bluegrass group “Tuesday String Band”. He has been hired on to play for student recitals, high school performances, musical theatre and as a drum technician for McMinnville band “We Three” for a couple tours. He will continue to perform and compose on the daily and having fun while doing it.
