Greater Bay of Quinte Area Chapter 39 invites all members and non members to our fun casual get together "Coffee & Chat" on Tuesday, July 9,2024 from 2-4pm in the 50+ Room,Main Floor at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, 265 Cannifton Rd., Belleville.
Coffee,tea,sweets will be provided! Door Prizes as well !!
This month we welcome local author, Dan Buchanan “The History Guy” who will talk about his new book, “A History of the Murray Canal”.
“John Graves Simcoe insisted there be a canal at the west end of the Bay of Quinte in 1794, but nothing happened, starting a trend that continued through the 1870s. Finally, serious lobbying by industry and commercial enterprises around the Bay of Quinte combined with the right politics to make it happen.”
