About this Event
Raw Art? Outside Art? Folk Art? Art Brut?
Art that doesn't fit the molds of categorized fine art. Art that doesn't neatly fit a certain genre or a specific movement—or anywhere basically. “Art with an accent.” Art that is fully infused with its maker's passion and heart.
The class is designed to provide artists with additional creative tools. We will use informal approaches to explore a variety of media such as stencil art, found objects, mixed media, painting, and drawing.
This class is for beginning and intermediate level artists.
Instructor statement: "I look to the earth as source material, the intrinsic attraction to the soil. Somewhere deep within my consciousness. I am provoked by a mystery that lies just beneath the surface, churning a patch of dirt by pick and shovel becomes the play of releasing some entombed memory. The act of stirring the earth is not one of disruption; it is an act of liberation."
