About this Event

Welcome to the Tucson Cancer Conquerors Women's Wellness Seminar! Join us at the beautiful Loews Ventana Canyon Resort for a half day seminar filled with empowering discussions, informative sessions, and a supportive community. Our event aims to provide women cancer survivors, and those at risk as pre-vivors, with knowledge and valuable insights on women's health issues as it relates to their cancer journey.

Please share this event with other survivors and/or previvors who may be struggling with these issues.

Check in starts at 7:30 am followed by breakfast, 3 sessions (with a quick stretch break in between), and ends with lunch together. This event is being offered at no cost to you.

We are limited to the first 200 registered. If you would like to invite a female co-survivor (caregiver or buddy) who supported you during your journey, please make sure to register both of you.

Please read all FAQs, if you have a question that was not addressed, please reach out to [email protected].

Meet our speakers:

Dr. Rachel Swart- (Menopause: Thriving During the Change) Dr. Swart earned her medical degree and a PhD in tumor cell biology in the combined MD/PhD program at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She went on to complete both her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Arizona. In 2006, Dr. Swart was appointed assistant professor in the section of hematology/oncology at the University of Arizona, where she focused on treating breast cancer and researching circulating tumor cells in breast cancer.
Dr. Swart joined Arizona Oncology in January of 2011. She treats a variety of malignancies in women with a specialty in breast cancer. She also directs the practice's high-risk breast cancer clinic. In 2016, she developed a survivorship
program and clinic. Currently, she leads our Tucson division’s breast cancer clinical trials program.
Philosophy: Inspired by my aunt ’s battle against ovarian cancer and my mother surviving breast cancer twice, I know how important it is to recognize patients’ individualized needs. Every patient brings something to their situation that you have to understand – it ’s not just the disease, it’s that person ’s values, experiences, and their perception.

Samantha Johnson PT, DPT, ATC- (Your Pelvic Floor: What Your Mother Never Told You!) Samantha Johnson is a physical therapist specializing in treatment and rehabilitation of the pelvic floor. She is a transplant from Ohio and has been in the Tucson medical community since 2018 and with TMC since 2021. Sam likes to think of herself as a generalist of the pelvic floor with experience treating many different dysfunctions related to the pelvic floor including after abdominal and pelvic surgeries, treatment for cancer, recovery after pregnancy and dysfunctions in all genders. The things she enjoys most about this specialty are how care integrates factors beyond just the pelvic floor (everything from jaw to toes, visceral function and psychological connections) and getting to talk about the taboo things.

Dr. Georgia Anderson - (Sexual Health: Nurturing Communication and Energizing Intimacy) Dr. Anderson has been a social worker nearly 20 years. Her early career was spent working in the community mental health system before transitioning to medical social work. Most of her career has been spent working in oncology and palliative care at The Barrett Cancer Center at UC Health. During her tenure at UC Health, Georgia served as the Manager of Outpatient Social Work, the Office of Decedent Affairs, and Palliative Care. The role allowed her to grow as an administrative and clinical supervisor. She also served as a clinical support group facilitator at The Cancer Support Community and therapist at Cancer Family Care.
Dr. Anderson's research focuses on cancer survivorship, the impact on family functioning, and quality of life. She is particularly interested in improving quality of life for women with lung, head & neck, and gynecologic cancers.
