Lankum, ØXN, Landless, and John Francis Flynn have undoubtedly experienced their momentum over the past two years: rave reviews, whirlwind live shows, and a remarkable broadening of their audience. The common thread? Producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy, who in recent years has become an indelible force within the Irish folk underground community. He has also added his musical twist to acts like Black MIDI, Goat Girl, and even jazz saxophonist Evan Parker. And now, you can add the 9-member alternative Irish folk collective Trá Pháidín (pronounced Trawfawdeen) to that list.
Their latest album, ‘An 424’, was also guided to excellence under the production of this musical visionary. KLOF Magazine: “On ‘An 424’, Trá Pháidín make an impressively unified sound. It’s a brilliantly diverse and highly original record incorporating elements of Irish traditional music, earthy psych, ambient, kraut, free jazz, post rock, field recording, and just about anything else you care to mention.”
