FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Attendees must be at least 14 years of age or older to attend, and attendees under 21 are not permitted to bring/consume alcohol.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds can be issued if proper notice is given at least 48 hours before the event. Eventbrite fees are nonrefundable.
What should I bring?
Bring an open mind and get ready to get crafty! You should come with any food or beverages you’d like to enjoy during your workshop, as well as any utensils, glasses, plates, etc. that your treats require. ClaySpace does not provide any of these items and is not responsible for clean-up.
What should I wear?
Don’t wear any loose clothing, scarves, or long jewelry. Long hair should be tied back and no rings or bracelets should be worn, as they can fall off or get ruined. All clay washes out of clothing, but wear clothing you care about at your own risk. Nails should be trimmed short to avoid accidentally ruining freshly made work.
What should I expect/what will I learn?
If this is your first time trying ceramics, come with an open mind! You will learn basic forming and decoration techniques. If this is not your first time, you will get a refresher on old techniques, maybe learn some new ones, and brush up your skills in a relaxed atmosphere. The instructor will demo several techniques, walk you through each step at a beginner’s pace, and answer any questions you have as you create. As with many multi-step art forms, creating, finishing and firing pottery does not have a 100% success rate. There is always a chance something could go wrong with one of your pieces in any step of the process. The instructor will always do everything to ensure that your pieces are handled and finished with care.
When will I get my creation?
After the workshop, your instructor will glaze and fire your work. The finishing process takes several days to complete, and students can pick up their work about 2-4 weeks after the workshop at a time agreed upon by the group and instructor.
How can I arrange a private workshop?
Email [email protected]. Workshops should be planned several weeks in advance in order to ensure your date is available. If you have an idea for a private workshop, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate your group. More information can be found on our website: www.erieclayspace.com
How can I contact the organization?
