Location: Meeting at Ganavan, to cycle around the trails in the area.
Join us out on the trails for one of our led mountain bike rides this Big Bike Weekend! These guided rides are perfect for less-experienced young riders who are eager to explore the great outdoors, make new friends, and develop their biking skills. This session is intended for younger/newbie riders who would like to spend some time sessioning (practicing) shorter trails rather than riding longer distances for 2 hours. Our experienced guide will lead the group around the trails which will be included in the Sunday Kids Bike Event, ensuring a safe and exciting adventure for everyone.
- Trail Exploration: Discover scenic local trails and hidden gems in a guided group ride.
- Skill Building: Learn essential mountain biking techniques to boost your confidence and ability on the trails.
- Friendship & Fun: Meet other young riders, share stories, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow biking enthusiasts.
- Safety First: Our experienced leaders will ensure a safe ride with tips on trail etiquette and biking safety.
- A mountain bike in good working condition (mandatory)
- A properly fitting helmet (mandatory)
- Water bottle and snacks
- Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- The ride is suitable for kids over 5 years of age.
- Whilst parents/guardians are not able to join on the ride (due to rider:participant ratios), we encourage you to bring your own bike along and have a cycle whilst your child is out with us!
- Registration is required to ensure we have all the information required about your child for the ride.
- In case of bad weather, the event will be rescheduled, and participants will be notified in advance.
- Registration is by donation - please pay as much or as little as you can. Unlike previous years, we have not received funding from Event Scotland and have therefore had to scale the event accordingly. We are really greatful to the Oban Sportive who continue to support us, however as a small charity we would appreciate the help we can get to get as many kids out and enjoying time on their bikes this summer!
