Truth, Paige Julia and Ashez all reach into different pockets of the bass-music spectrum, from dubstep/140, to jungle, drum n bass, halftime and breaks. Truth:
Sonic architects of songs with an emotional heft as heavy as the subwoofer rupturing basslines that underpin their work, Truth are one of New Zealand's finest creative exports. Respected across the globe, Truth, as both world-class producers and party-rocking DJs, cut a clear pathway through the international dubstep scene.
On the nightclub and festival circuits, the fruits of their labour include many European tours, countless shows across the USA, New Zealand, Australia, South America and Asia. Their releases span the spectrum of 140 labels from Deep Medi, to Wakaan to their own music-releasing juggernaut Deep, Dark & Dangerous (aka their ‘baby’). Truth are the winners of the “Best Electronic Artist” at the 2017 Aotearoa Music Awards.
Paige Julia:
Paige Julia is a creature that lives on an island in the South Pacific Ocean that spends her time tinkering with sound machines. A well-known force in Aotearoa’s underground bass music scene for some time, Paige Julia has been embraced by the global music community as one of the very profound artists emanating from Aotearoa. She has released music with 1985 Music, Deep Dark & Dangerous, Drum&BassArena, Unchained Recordings, Samsara Beats, MalLabel Music, Forest Biz, Uncomfortable Beats and Totally Roasted as well as a self released album titled “Morphling” that won “Best Electronic Artist” at the 2021 Aotearoa Music Awards.
Ashez:
ASHEZ is the pseudonym of Max Ashworth: a bass music producer hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. He has made quite a name for himself in the bass music scene worldwide with his music being picked up by DJs and listeners alike and amassing millions of streams. ASHEZ has performed both nationally & internationally and has toured New Zealand multiple times, playing sold out club shows and festivals in both the North & South Island and Australia. His first Canada tour is later in 2023. With releases on major record labels such as Wakaan, Warner Music, Below the Surface, Wormhole Music Group, Tribal Trap and more, ASHEZ sound can be described as an eclectic fusion of the new, the old, and the unexpected. ASHEZ has his music played out by some of the leading artists in bass music including CloZee, LSDream, Opiuo, Liquid Stranger & Barclay Crenshaw. He is known for high-energy performances, a culturally creative style, and a boldly experimental approach to bass music.
