About this Event
An invitation-only event for MPs, councillors, system leaders, funders and local partners, hosted by Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
The Burnham Suite, West Park Hospital, Horton Lane, Epsom KT19 8NX
Thursday 26 February
2:30-4pm
Our new intimate and focused events will bring together key local stakeholders and partners to highlight some of the successes and the challenges in mental health care across our communities.
You’ll hear directly from our Executive Team and clinical colleagues about the local needs and service developments within the area and how we are enhancing patient and community experience. There will also be space for discussion, questions and networking.
We are pleased to confirm that our key speaker will be Professor Ramin Nilforooshan, whose presentation - The Future of Dementia Diagnosis - will share insights from his leading dementia research and clinical work. Dementia is a rapidly growing and urgent issue, with nearly one million people in the UK currently living with the condition and one in three people born in the UK today expected to develop dementia in their lifetime. Professor Nilforooshan will share the latest developments in diagnosis, innovations in care and what this means for our local communities.
Our trust provides expert care and support across mental health, neurodevelopmental, substance use, and learning disability services throughout Surrey and North East Hampshire and we are committed to working hand-in-hand with local stakeholders and partners to strengthen care and support across the communities we serve.
Our Epsom event will also spotlight:
- the mental health needs of the local population
- the services we provide for Epsom
- and how we might work more closely with you to improve outcomes for children, young people and adults, including those with dementia.
Representatives from several of our Epsom-based services will be present, including:
- Research & Development (R&D) – leading and supporting clinical research to improve outcomes and develop new approaches in mental health and dementia care.
- HOPE Service – providing intensive support for young people facing complex mental health and social challenges, helping them stay connected to education and community life.
- Surrey and Borders Charity – funding enhancements, projects and spaces that go beyond NHS provision to improve experiences for patients, families and staff.
- Mind Matters – delivering psychological therapies for adults, including talking therapies and support for anxiety and depression
- Mindworks Surrey – our children and young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health service, supporting young people and families across Surrey.
I would be delighted if you could join us for this important conversation and help shape our shared priorities for the year ahead.
Warmest regards,
Graham Wareham
