Trump's One-State Solution vs. Reality
Welcome to our online event, where we will delve into the controversial topic of Trump's proposed One-State Solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Join us as we explore the implications of this plan and compare it to the realities on the ground.
We’ll discuss the historical and grassroots perspectives of Israelis and Palestinians, examining their views on a two-state versus a one-state solution. We’ll also dive into the varied perspectives of different Arab communities living in the region.

This image is from the Golan Heights, a region annexed by Israel after being captured during the Six-Day War in 1967. Although Israeli law considers this area part of Israel, Syria continues to claim it. Trump's recognition of Israel's annexation was unprecedented and reflects his distinct approach toward Israel. In response, Israel established a new settlement in the Golan Heights named after Trump.
A similar approach can be seen with Jerusalem, another area annexed by Israel but unrecognized by most countries. During his first term, Trump moved the American embassy to Jerusalem—a move previous presidents had avoided despite a Congressional resolution supporting it since the 1990s.
These actions, alongside the Abraham Accords brokered by Trump, an economic strategy for peacebuilding, and other initiatives, signal a fresh perspective on Israel, the Palestinians, and the broader Middle East. We’ll discuss this approach and its impact on both Israeli and Arab communities.
Hint: You may be surprised at how many Arabs are hopeful for Trump’s return to office—and we’ll explain why.

It is widely known that many Israelis, particularly those on the right, favor Trump as president. Among Arabs, there are many who fear Islamic and nationalist extremists. These individuals hope to build peace with Israel, reject terrorism, and feel that Trump recognizes their concerns, empowering them against the extremists.
Our extensive work within the Arabs With Israel organization has provided us with valuable insights into how we can transform this audience into a powerful force for peacebuilding. We will discuss different Arab populations:
- Israeli Arabs
- East Jerusalem residents
- Palestinians in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria)
- Palestinians in Gaza
- Arabs in other countries
What are their views on Israel? Is it possible to deradicalize extremists and strengthen moderates? Who are these moderates, and what are their aspirations? Is a one-state solution viable in the eyes of Arabs?
Gilad Israeli, an expert in Arab-Israeli relations, brings a wealth of experience in bridging communities. He previously worked in the East Jerusalem Department of the Jerusalem Mayor’s Office under Nir Barkat, focusing on the integration of East Jerusalem residents into the Israeli municipality.
Gilad founded Arabs With Israel, an organization dedicated to fostering identification with and support for the state of Israel among the Arab population.
In 2018, Gilad managed the election campaign for the Jerusalem My City party, supporting Dr. Ramadan Dabash’s historic run for Jerusalem’s city council, aimed at securing Arab representation in the municipal government.
He also founded Joint Tech, an initiative that connects Palestinians with jobs in Israeli and international high-tech sectors, providing outsourcing, placement, and payroll services for Palestinian developers and tech professionals.
