Wednesday 12th November, 7.15 for a 7.30 p.m. start; doors open at 7: Iain Webb (Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs and Northants) will talk about Trumpington Meadows Nature Reserve. Trumpington Meadows is a 58ha country park and nature reserve alongside the River Cam with a long and diverse history. The meadows are spectacular in summer, shimmering with wildflowers such as knapweed, field scabious, bird’s foot trefoil, ox-eye daisy and salad burnet. Butterflies float over the meadow flowers, while dragonflies and damsels dip and dance along the river. The riverside offers beautiful spots to walk and observe otters and kingfishers. As well as the wildlife, Iain will talk about the history and management of the reserve with some reference to the impact of climate change on it.
Entry Free (subject to space) but donations welcome to cover the speaker and refreshment costs. All welcome.
