TONY POWELL (Bounce Muzik, LACES, Soul Sunday)
What put Tony Powell on the map, as one of L.A.’s most sought after DJ’s, was his highly successful, 8 year, residency at the “The Men’s Room” in Hollywood, which included Gospel, Jazz, and Latin percussion style House Music. Tony has enjoyed several other residencies which include Escandalo, Metropolis, & the long running DDHC til early 2022. Following DDHC he collaborated with Epstein and they started “4212” A new chapter of Soulful Deepness. Tony has as well, had several rotating residencies over 25+ years with the historic original “Does Your Mama Know, King King(WCS Events),Fire House & Funky People along with creating several events LACES, Sundown, and Trabajo!) to guests spots at Deep (LA), Love Sessions, House Of Vibes, to House Music Friday (SD) and FunkBox (NYE), The Foundry (SF, Compact Disco ( Monterey) Tony has played from LA to Chicago and shared the decks with such heavy hitters (Tony Touch, DJ Spen, The God Father Of House Frankie Knuckles, David Harness, Colette, Doc Martin, Julius The Mad Thinker, Ron Trent, Marques Wyatt) just to name a few. Tony performed with a stellar line up of artists at his debut at MI CASA ES SU CASA in Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, Mexico for The 15th Year Anniversary Party in 2023 which was a powerful and spiritual experience connecting with so many talented artists and making long lasting connections and continued more highs when he performed with Stacy Kidd at Sunday Bliss 9 Year Anniversary in Oakland 2024 summer. His soulful signature style & peak sound will take you on a journey you’ll never forget… Ever!! Along with Bounce Muzik label Owner/ Producer/ Dj Gabriel Horizon, the Bounce Collaboration between Gabriel & Tony Powell have produced the soulful track, "Lift Me Higher" & the pumping, "Believe” in 2011, along with, the Latin fused “Caminando” (Featuring Bay Area Vocalist Johana) in 2015 & teaming up again with Johana for the 2016 follow up, “Finally Home”. The Bounce collaboration penned the LA Soulful Remix, “You Are” Featuring Michelle Weeks for the label Paradax Records in early 2017, and the 2020 hit, “Be Free” Featuring Chellena Black that went #15 on the Traxsource Soulful House Chart. The duo are not done and has more to unleash upon the world of House Music. Tony Is currently doing the summer monthly event Soul Sunday and Tri- monthly event "LACES" with partner/ resident DJ Jack Monforte. Stay tuned.
