Dear CTU Chapter Volunteers,
Good afternoon, my name is Allison Baas and I am CTU's Seasonal TIC Training Coordinator for the 2024 summer. I am working with the TIC team, including Natalie Flowers, to develop a more robust TIC teacher professional development workshop. This year we are working on developing and implementing at a small scale a one-day professional development workshop around TIC. This year's workshop will provide training on: basic tank set up, clean up and maintenance; water quality and monitoring; and additional smaller workshop sessions build around helping teachers go beyond the tank and integrate the experience into the standards and classroom learning. This expanded TIC professional development training is designed to be an annual event to help TIC participating teachers, community members and schools' network, feel supported in the project, and for teachers to gain continuing education credits.
We would love to invite you to participate in the professional development through helping run the tank set up and tank maintenance workshop at one of the trainings. CTU would love your assistance and expertice in helping train teachers, community members and new TIC volunteers in successful tank set up and maintenance. The trainings run from 9 am- 4pm and will be held on and at:
July 25th Training at Mount Garfield Middle School in Grand Junction/Clifton Area
July 27th Training - CSU Spur Denver Area
Aug. 3rd Training - Environmental Learning for Kids Denver Area
If you would like to help at any or all of these trainings, please let me know and we can communicate more from there. I am happy to discuss the workshops in more detail with you.
