On Sunday September 29th, 2024 3:00pm at Christ and St Stephen’s Church in NYC, SAS Performing Arts Concert Opera presents a double bill featuring Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti and a concert in honor of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death. Experience Bernstein’s "Americanness" through his 1952 opera Trouble in Tahiti, which characterizes 1950s suburbia. The story revolves around Sam and Dinah, who seem to have the perfect life in their little white house, but their growing detachment exposes a mutual feeling that they have lost their way. In the second half of the program, we will celebrate the centennial of Puccini’s death by performing excerpts from his famous operas including La Boheme, Tosca, Madama Butterfly.
