"Reisen til Melonia" (The Journey to Melonia) is a beautifully animated fantasy film by Swedish director Per Åhlin, inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest. The story follows the peaceful island of Melonia, where nature and creativity thrive, but everything changes when two children escape from the dark, industrial island of Plutonia. With strong environmental and anti-authoritarian themes, the film is a poetic and visually rich tale about freedom, imagination, and resistance against oppression.

Robert Altman’s Nashville is an explosion of music, Americana, social critique, politics, and 1970s charm.
The film follows up to 24 different characters, has a fairly loose plot, and much of the dialogue is improvised. All the music we hear is performed live. Using the country and gospel music scene in Nashville, Tennessee, as its backdrop, the film tells a multitude of stories and reflects American society at large. Nashville is a film with enormous ambition, and because of that, it casts a wide net. This also applies to its portrayal of the music industry, where all kinds of roles and people are represented.
Nashville is considered by many to be Robert Altman’s magnum opus. In 1992, it was added to the United States National Film Registry for its cultural, historical, and aesthetic significance. The film has won several prestigious awards, including an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Everyone who sang in the film had to write and perform their own songs — meaning it was one of the actors, Keith Carradine, who wrote the winning song “I’m Easy.”
Now, fifty years later, Nashville remains just as entertaining and fascinating, and the slogan from 1975 still rings true:
“The damnedest thing you ever saw.”
