Born Troy Andrews, Trombone Shorty made his first appearance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans performing with Bo Diddley at the age of 4. At 6, he was leading his own brass band. In his teenage years, Shorty was hired by Lenny Kravitz to join the band he had assembled for his Electric Church World Tour.
