Adventure with a map! Participants get a detailed map and try to locate a series of control points shown on the map. Suitable for all ages, you may compete for the fastest time, or just enjoy a leisurely hike, while using our map to explore the park. There will be six different courses of varying difficulty and length - there is one suitable for every adventurer.Free map and compass instruction for beginners. Event fee is $10 for Orienteering Cincinnati members, $15 for non-members for groups of 1 to 5 doing a course together. $5 for Youth under 18. Starts are open from 11 am to 1 pm.
This event is included in our 2025-26 TROL/WARS season pass, so entry is FREE if you purchase a TROL season pass (HS student or younger) or WARS season pass (adult above high school age).
Pre-registration is open - required even if you have a TROL or WARS season pass. Please help us by pre-registering early. Registration closes at 9 pm. on Friday, Nov. 14. See who's registered
There will also be a special introduction to orienteering classes just for girl scouts and leaders. Scouts 11 am to 1 pm session. (Register for these through Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. You do NOT need to do the separate registration for the orienteering meet; it is included.)
Starts will be open from 11 am to 1 pm. Full range of courses for all ages. Courses: white easy; yellow intermediate; orange advanced, brown short expert, green expert; red long expert.
Join us for a post-event social, as soon as control pickup is completed. We always appreciate a few extra hands bringing in controls - many hands make post-event clean-up fast and easy.
Park entry or vehicle permit fees: none. Restroom facilities: modern indoors. Event Center: indoors but minimally heated building. Special note: This is a girl scout camp (privately owned); no dogs please; certified service animals only.
