Adventure with a map! Participants get a detailed map and try to locate a series of control points shown on the map. Suitable for all ages, you may compete for the fastest time, or just enjoy a leisurely hike, while using our map to explore the park. There will be six different courses of varying difficulty and length - there is one suitable for every adventurer.Free map and compass instruction for those with no prior orienteering experience. Price is $10 for Orienteering Cincinnati members, $15 for non-members for groups of 1 to 5 doing a course together. $5 for Youth. Start times 11 to 1. We will plan to start control removal at 3.
Courses by Pat Meehan, White beginner; yellow intermediate; orange advanced; brown short expert; green expert; red long expert.
This event is included in our 2025-26 TROL/WARS season pass, so entry is FREE if you purchase a TROL season pass (HS student or younger) or WARS season pass (adult above high school age).
Pre-registration is required even if you have a TROL or WARS season pass. Please help us by pre-registering early. Registration closes at 9 pm. on Saturday, Jan 9.
Location: Miami Woods (Hamilton Parks Conservancy), 450 New London Rd, Hamilton, OH 45013. GPS 39.3715, -84.8087. Very small parking lot. Additional parking is located to the west on the south side of New London Rd, and in Potter Park Golf Course, also on the south side of New London. Please be very careful of high speed traffic when crossing New London.
