In diesem Prozess versuchen wir alle unsere dunkle Stimme zu finden. Wir verwenden Prinzipien nicht nur aus dem Tanz, sondern auch aus der Masken-, Mime- und Clownsarbeit, um uns der Kreation zu nähern. Die Arbeit verlangt von den Performer:innen oft Vielseitigkeit, da sie schnell zwischen verschiedenen Genres, Bewegungsstilen und Charakteren wechseln müssen. Sams Arbeiten sind sehr konzeptorientiert und kreisen um die Idee der Satire, des sardonischen Humors und der Zufälligkeit. Es geht um den Aufbau einer Welt, und je surrealer die Welt, desto besser. Wir haben eine Idee, spielen damit, zerreißen sie, stellen sie auf den Kopf und fragen uns, ob wir schreckliche Fehler machen. Wir entscheiden, dass wir das tun, und machen trotzdem weiter, bis das Stück aus der Asche unserer Unsicherheiten aufsteigt.

Hinter Tamaras Ansatz liegt ein ständiger Prozess der Selbstbefragung, darüber wie der Körper seinen Platz im Raum findet und welche Auswirkungen er haben kann. Sie möchte die Tänzer:innen auf eine körperliche und musikalische Forschung mitnehmen die sich ständig in einem Zustand der Verhandlung und der Anpassungsfähigkeit befindet. Indem wir ein breites Spektrum von Qualitäten erkunden, lassen wir unser inneres Urteil und die des Egos los. Wir bewegen uns von fließend bis abrupt, von einem Trance-Zustand bis zu einem gewollten wiederholen, von Primitivismus bis Architekturismus. Der Einsatz von elektronischer und Techno-Musik provoziert eine unmittelbare Bewegungsreaktion, bringt einen animalischen Körper hervor in dem sich die Sinne vervielfachen und der Fokus scharf ist. Tamara ergreift die körperliche Aufmerksamkeit der Tänzer:innen und ermöglicht eine spürbare Erfahrung von Zeit und Raum: Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft leben zusammen. So wird Bewegung und Transformation zu einer initiativen Erforschung, um auf einer neutralen, aber soliden Basis Neues aufzubauen. Nachdem Tamara 2015 das Universum von Kangding Ray entdeckt hatte, sammelte sie direkte Reaktionen von Tänzer:innen aus aller Welt auf seinen einzigartigen Klang. Da sie die Energie, die Strukturen und die Rhythmen schätzt die seine Musik während ihres Unterrichts hervorruft, hat sie beschlossen, den Künstler zur Zusammenarbeit einzuladen. Diese beiden unermüdlichen Entdecker:innen werden den Dialog zwischen Tanz und experimenteller Musik eröffnen um die Grenzen von Bewegung und Klang weiter zu verschieben und eine rohe und intuitive Antwort auf ihr gemeinsames Interesse zu finden: endloses Teilen. Dies ist der Beginn einer neuen Reise.

In this process we are all trying to find our dark voice. We use principles not only from dance, but also from mask, mime and clown work to approach the creation. The work often requires versatility from the performer:s as they must move quickly between different genres, movement styles, and characters. Sam's work is very concept-driven and revolves around the idea of satire, sardonic humor, and randomness. It's about building a world, and the more surreal the world, the better. We have an idea, play with it, tear it apart, turn it upside down, and wonder if we're making terrible mistakes. We decide we are, and keep going anyway, until the piece rises from the ashes of our insecurities.

Behind Tamara's approach lies a constant process of self-questioning, about how the body finds its place in space and what impact it can have. She wants to take the dancers on a physical and musical research that is constantly in a state of negotiation and adaptability. Exploring a wide range of qualities, we let go of our inner judgments and those of the ego. We move from fluid to abrupt, from a trance state to intentional repetition, from primitivism to architecturalism. The use of electronic and techno music provokes an immediate movement response, brings forth an animalistic body in which the senses are multiplied and the focus is sharp. Tamara grabs the physical attention of the dancers and enables a tangible experience of time and space: past, present and future live together. In this way, movement and transformation become an initiatory exploration to build newness on a neutral but solid foundation. After discovering the universe of Kangding Ray in 2015, Tamara gathered direct responses from dancers around the world to its unique sound. Appreciating the energy, textures and rhythms his music evokes during her classes, she decided to invite the artist to collaborate. These two tireless explorers:inside will open the dialogue between dance and experimental music to further push the boundaries of movement and sound and find a raw and intuitive answer to their common interest: endless sharing. This is the beginning of a new journey.
