🔥CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS🔥
The Rocky Mountaineers Backcountry Storytelling Night
Theme: "Exposure"
Have you found yourself on the edge—exposed to nature, to risk, or to your own fears? Have you been in a moment where everything felt stripped away, where you felt profoundly connected to the landscape, or tested to your limits? The Rocky Mountaineers invite you to step up and share your story around the theme "Exposure."
We’re looking for true, first-person stories from our diverse outdoor community for the Rocky Mountaineers Backcountry Storytelling Night on Tuesday, January 14. Whether your story is one of resilience, humor, surprise, or wonder, we will join together as a community for the evening to inspire one another through experiences that have left us exposed, transformed, or simply alive.
What We’re Looking For:
Stories rooted in real-life adventures or reflections on the theme of Exposure.
Stories must be shared in a personal, spoken-word format.
Details:
Length: no more than 10 minutes per story. This will be strictly enforced to ensure that everyone who is selected and has put in the effort to prepare their story has the opportunity to share it.
Submission Process: Record a brief (max 3 minutes) version of your story as an audio file. Attach that to an email along with a concise written summary of your story idea.
Deadline: Friday, December 6.
Contact: Please email your submission to both Elizabeth at [email protected] and Mark at [email protected].
By signing up as a TRM Storyteller you must commit to attending both rehearsals as well as the storytelling night:
December 12th @ 6:30PM - Rehearsal and Feedback session, Location TBA
January 7th @ 7 PM – Dress Rehearsal, Location TBA
January 14th @ 7 PM – TRM Backcountry Storytelling Night at Freestone Climbing Center!
Story Submissions should include the following:
Your name
Phone Number
A short paragraph summarizing your story (in case there is an issue with the audio recording)
An audio recording attached to your email (please reach out to Mark if you’d like some assistance with the audio file)
