While this FREE training will be a total 4 hours, it will be broken down into 75 minute segments for participants (you are welcome to come for any or all of the 3 sessions - a certificate of attendance will be given for each). Look for us in the Training Center at 1470 S Eastside Loop!
12:00-1:15PM - The Power of Positive Parenting
In this 35 year, evidence-based Positive Parenting Program, parents will be introduced to the five key principles of positive parenting that form the basis of Triple P. These principles are:
- Ensuring a safe engaging environment.
- Creating a positive learning environment.
- Using assertive discipline.
- Having reasonable expectations.
- Looking after yourself as a parent
1:20-2:35PM - Raising Confident, Competent Children
In this seminar, parents are introduced to six core building blocks for children to become confident and successful at school and beyond. These competencies are:
- Showing respect to others.
- Being considerate.
- Having good communication and social skills.
- Having healthy self-esteem.
- Being a good problem solver.
- Becoming independent.
2:40PM-4:00PM - Raising Resilient Children
Parents will be introduced to six core building blocks for children to manage their feelings and become resilient in dealing with life stress. These competencies are:
- Recognizing and accepting feelings.
- Expressing feelings appropriately.
- Building a positive outlook.
- Developing coping skills.

Class will be taught by: Robin Blumenthal, M.A.
Robin is a trauma-informed trainer, parenting coach, speaker, and writer. She has trained within the Justice System, Educators, Organizations, and the Faith Community. She and her husband have 4 biological and 1 adopted child. She has taught parenting classes since 2006 and is excited to share these powerful information with you!
