These Spring group Pick 'n' Mix Coaching Sessions on Sat 1st March and Sat 12th April are designed for you to bring your Coaching questions to us. Coach Anni can provide assistance, advice, demos, videoing - whatever is needed - to help you get the most out of your relationship with your board, paddle, fin and stroke - and you can also paddle and practise safely at this beautiful lifeguarded lake, whilst BSUPA Level 2 Instructor Mike provides safety cover and moral support!We will arrive at 9am and be ready to launch at 9.30am (so please be prepared for a quick get ready, briefing and warm up!) and off the water by 11am.
The swimmers will be on the short course (at the launch flag end) and we will have free use of the rest of the lake. Please keep well clear of the swimmers at all times.
Water will be very cold brrrr so you must please wear an appropriate neoprene wetsuit or drysuit, hat, boots etc.!
These sessions are crafted for competent Stand Up Paddle (SUP) paddlers who are ready to learn more. If you’re over 18, confident in swimming 25m clothed, can bring a suitable paddleboard and appropriate gear, can SUP competently, and get back on your board unaided out of your depth, then you’re ready to take the plunge!
Requirements
Be over 18 years old, be able to swim 25m clothed, be able to paddle with confidence and get back onto your SUP board from the water unaided if you fall in. Have insurance for your SUP board.
What to bring
Own SUP board, paddle, fin, coiled leash, Personal Buoyancy Aid or Personal Floatation Device, temperature appropriate paddling clothes and footwear, strap to secure glasses if you wear them, a towel, warm dry clothes to change into, water and energy snack if you need it.
