The District and Quincy Medical Group are hosting Trick or Treat in The District on Saturday, October 25 from 10am–1pm. First-Mid Bank & Trust Plaza–located at 7th & Maine–is the starting point and hub for the event. In addition to event check-in (10am-Noon), this is where Quincy Medical Group team members will be distributing information and assisting adults with accessing the digital map of the participating businesses. Children are encouraged to bring their own trick or treat bags.
New this year is a trunk or treat that will be held in the Plaza parking spaces. “Those participating in the trunk or treat are businesses and organizations that are ‘outlying’ District businesses—those businesses NOT located 4th to 10th Streets/Maine to Hampshire,” stated The District Executive Director Brianna Rivera. “We’ve added this because we know families generally do not leave the 4th-10th/Maine-Hampshire area of The District. This allows the businesses to participate and enjoy the event as well.”
As families are out and about trick or treating, parents who could use a pick-me-up are encouraged to stop by The Pour Haus, 628 Maine Street (back side of the building/alley entrance) to get a free cup of coffee. The free java is limited to one cup of drip coffee per parent and will be available from 10am-1pm.
The Plaza is where a variety of photo opportunities, including a digital photo booth, music provided by Lyon’s Pride, and a variety of entertainment will be found. First-Mid Bank employees will be handing out treats as well. Another location that families should be sure to visit is Washington Park, where the final 2025 Quincy Farmers Market will be taking place. “Our farmers and vendors enjoy getting to see the families and children and love to hand out treats or trinkets as well,” stated Rivera.
Many of The District Trick or Treat participating businesses will be Teal Pumpkin stops–they will offer non-food items. The event map will indicate which businesses are Teal Pumpkin stops.
