About this Event
Join us on January 18th, 2025 for an evening of great jazz featuring bassist Trevor Lamb!
Trevor will join the Henry Ford Big Band for one night only and feature jazz standards as well as original arrangements he'll premier at Henry Ford College.
Based in Detroit, Trevor began his music career at Wayne State University. He maintains several projects including the “Eat It Up Trio” performing regularly around Detroit, and jam sessions held weekly at various venues with the goal of cultivating local talent in the metro Detroit area. Trevor has toured internationally in Japan, where he not only showcased his own talent but also hosted clinics for university students there. Trevor has a strong passion for the Detroit jazz scene, and he expresses that in his art.
The Henry Ford Big Band was formed in 1983 as an ambassador group for the college’s music program and the City of Dearborn, with a repertoire comprising jazz, swing, and bossa nova from jazz-era greats including Glenn Miller, Buddy Rich, Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson, and more. The band boasts a global resumé, including performances at prestigious jazz festivals, concert halls, and events in Detroit, Washington D.C., New York, Toronto, Scotland, France, Italy, and Switzerland.
Supporting early-career jazz artists is part of the Music Department's mission as we educate and prepare the next generation of artists. Come help us support the music program and our talented guest artist!
