About this Event
Celebrating the life and work of Paisley weaver poet Robert Tannahill, join Professor Fred Freeman at Paisley Central Library for an engaging talk.
For altogether too many years, the poet was considered by many noted critics to be ‘sweetly sentimental’. This second multimedia lecture, drawing upon recorded song, artistic illustration, recitation, challenges received opinion and endeavours to place Tannahill along-side the great satirists of the 18th-century Vernacular Revival.
This is the second of three new lectures at Paisley Central Library on Robert Tannahill by Professor Fred Freeman.
