About this Event

What does the hike involve?

This April hike takes us on our first expedition to the Cotswolds, an area of extraordinary beauty, famous for it's quaint villages, rolling hills, and stunning countryside. Hike along the Cotswolds way and enjoy the landscape rich in beautiful flora and fauna, soak in the breath-taking views from Haresfeild Common, and Scottsquar Hill, and see the first of the Bluebells in Standish Woods.

What difficulty is this hike?

This hike is rated as Challenge with large hills and has a total length of 17.51km (total ascension being 520 metres.) Due to the length and challenging nature of this hike, all hikers attending must be 18 years and over and in good physical condition to hike. We encourage Trek/Fit members to bring their dogs with them as nature has just as positive impact on them too (Please see What is the Trek/Fit disclaimer form? below)

Is any hiking attire and accessories recommended for this hike?

For health and safety reasons we do require each Trek/Fit member to bring the following

1. Walking shoes / boots with good grip

2. Walking trousers or synthetic based gym shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms should be fine (Jeans / Chinos are not permitted for safety reasons)

3. Waterproofs (if needed)

4. Thermal Layers

4. Water (minimum of 1.5 litres) and appropriate lunch/snacks

5. Sunscreen protection

Please also note that if these rules aren't met the guide reserves the right to refuse you joining the hike.

What train ticket(s) do I need to book and where is the Meet up Point?

09:28 return from London Paddington Station to Stonehouse Station on Saturday 15th April. For those intending to meet us at the location our meeting point and the start of the hike will be Stonehouse Station (arrival time 11:00). We will be leaving from Stonehouse Station after 17:00.

We will meet at 09:00 outside the Café Nero Kiosk, inside the station concourse.

What does the hike cost?

Each hike is £10.00 per person (plus a booking fee by Eventbrite) to cover travel and expenses for the guide. Trek/Fit operates a no refund policy on all ticket sales but we are more than happy to accommodate moving your ticket to another hike if needed (dependent on event capacity).

Can I join the hike on the day?

All attendees have to book via Eventbrite before arriving at the meeting point with the deadline being the night before (14th April). This ensures that all attendees are accounted for (for health and safety) and can be contacted if needed before, during, and after the hike. If you are not listed in Eventbrite then the guide reserves the right to refuse you joining the hike.

What if the hike is cancelled e.g. train strike, extreme weather?

Cancelling any hike is not taken lightly and the safety of our community is our highest priority. Any cancelled hike(s) will be re-scheduled and the appropriate details will be updated here on Eventbrite.

What is the Trek/Fit disclaimer form?

The Trek/Fit disclaimer form is required to be signed by each Trek/Fit member attending the hikes as part of purchasing a ticket and ensures that you are willing to take responsibility for yourself (and any pets you bring with you) during the hike. Only one disclaimer form is required to be signed for each Trek/Fit member.
