About this Event
Start 2025 out on the right foot and get outdoors to learn some easy shortcuts to identify native trees. Join Charlottesville Area Tree Steward Emily Ferguson as she points out key features that identify our native species. The trees provide lots of clues that will aid in revealing their identity.
This is an easy-to-moderate walk over woodland trails at the beautiful Walnut Creek Park in North Garden. If you are already a tree enthusiast, please bring your favorite tree ID book, hand lens, and/or binoculars as aids. Also, please dress warmly according to the weather conditions as we will not be walking fast, wear hiking boots or sneakers, and bring water and food if necessary.
We will meet at the first parking lot on the right-hand side of the road (where the boat launch is also located). Inclement weather will cancel this walk.
This walk is free, but donations area always appreciated.
