About this Event

Join Tree Stewards Kathy Nepote and Allen Ingling for a leisurely walk adjacent to the Lewis & Clark Exploratory Center with its historic replicas along the sunny and shady gently sloping grassy and wooded areas.

Ancient Osage Orange trees, historic Monticello Tulip Tree, common riparian buffer, deciduous and conifer trees and the ash tree devastation due to the emerald ash borer make this site unique in Charlottesville. This walk is free, but donations are always appreciated. Thanks!

Directions: At the park entrance (pond in front), turn right and take the road to the end near the Pavilion. Park in the lot adjacent to the Pavilion and the Dog Park. The walk will start at the lot where we will look at the trees planted by members of the CATS Tree Steward Classes. From there we will walk down(relatively steep slope) to the Center and then along the Rivanna.
