Tree Planting in Kirklees - Golcar ward

This session is being run by Colne Valley Tree Society.

This planting session forms part of the council’s wider woodland creation programme, funded by the White Rose Forest, which aims to contribute to long-term carbon storage, reverse biodiversity decline and provide high quality woodlands for our communities. This work also helps with nature recovery across the borough.

Please ensure you arrive a little earlier than the start time as there will be some guidance at the beginning of the session about how to plant the trees from the staff who will be delivering the session.

Please wear sturdy footwear, dress for the weather and bring your own refreshments.

Please meet near the gate to the field on Pymroyd Lane (blue cross on map) - nearest post code is HD4 5PB. What Three Words location is: ///neat.degree.leaps.

There is not much room to park on Pymroyd Lane, if possible please park on Avison Road and walk up through the woodland. Please take into consideration residents when parking, and car share where possible. The field are slightly sloping, and some all-terrain wheelchairs may be suitable for the terrain.

Tools, trees and gloves will be provided.
