Tree Planting - Heal The Planet & AKA Sorority, Inc. Zeta Rho Omega Chapter

Heal The Planet teams up with the Enhance Our Environment Committee of the Zeta Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

In partnership with the AKAdemic Foundation, Inc. we are hosting a tree planting at Snyder Park on Saturday January 31, 2026 from 9AM to 12PM.

We need volunteers to help us plant 16 new native trees in the area of the Children’s Garden and around the Butterfly Garden.

These trees will help provide cooler temperatures, fresh oxygen, and shade for our children’s programs and future garden projects. Let’s get these trees in the ground!

Heal The Planet representatives will be on hand to teach and guide volunteers on the proper way to plant their trees. We welcome anyone who is interested in getting their hands a little dirty and helping a great cause! No experience necessary.

AKA has generously donated these trees through Community Greening’s Tree Pick Up & Grow Grant Program. All the necessary tools and supplies will be provided thanks to Community Greening and AKA, including work gloves, shovels, and mulch.

IMPORTANT:

Please wear closed-toed shoes, and clothing that can get a little dirty. We also encourage you to wear a hat and sunscreen.

We'll have water on-site and we encourage you to bring your own reusable bottle, as well as light snacks for volunteers. We will also have a DJ to keep things extra fun.

Snyder Park is located is located at 3299 SW 4th Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315. Upon arrival, you will make your first right and park in front of the 1st pavillion. After parking, proceed to the Heal The Planet TENT to check-in.

Each volunteer must register under their own name, as the registration form includes a volunteer waiver.

Event is family friendly - all minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Event begins at 9am. Estimated finish around 12pm.

ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER ONLINE IN ADVANCE.
