Join us on Dharawal country the day after the election to plant 1000 feed trees for the beautiful but threatened Glossy Black Cockatoo. These birds eat a limited range of she-oak species, so by adding a thousand of these trees to existing patches of bush we hope to create some really tasty snacks and enable the species to spend more time in our area. We will be planting at sites along the foreshore of Lake Illawarra and near Port Kembla beach and need all hands to help out, so spread the word!Exact details and site locations will come closer to the event, but we will provide tools and arrange carpools and do our best to enable everyone to be involved.
Intrepid landcare is a grassroots movement connecting young people (and the young at heart) to the environment and each other, through looking after and learning about the bush. We do our best to create a fun, safe and welcoming environment - if you've never been to an event with us before this would be a great place to start!
This event is taking place on unceded Dharawal country, and we pay our deepest respects to elders past and present, and honour their continuing connection to country.
