About this Event
McCollum Park is a public park that sits just off of Main St. With volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, as well as several baseball fields, this park is valued by the community and brings in many volunteers each year to help maintain the park. Join us in planting a few of these baby trees.
With financial support from the Morton Arboretum and in honor of their Centennial Year Celebration, we will be planting 10 trees in McCollum Park to reduce heat islands and better manage water retention at this site. We will be meeting under the shelter at the end of the parking lot on Main St. These are the coordinates: 41.764153, -88.007366.
No experience is necessary! Volunteers will help us dig holes, plant trees, mulch, and water.
- Please bring a mask, long pants, closed toe shoes, a (full) water bottle and sunscreen. We will take care of everything else!
- Note that masks may need to be worn for the duration of the project. We will limit group size and maintain social distancing as needed for participants' health and safety.
We look forward to making a difference in this community and hope that you will join us!
*Please include a phone number in your registration in case of last-minute schedule changes due to weather!
