Save the date! The Village of Schaumburg's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is happening at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 (the day after Thanksgiving) at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Ct. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Gather in the theatre for caroling before Santa arrives via fire truck to light the 22-foot tree with village officials outside in the Jack Siegel Memorial Plaza. Afterwards, reindeer and elf characters and Santa will be available for photos. Enjoy the additional photo-worthy decorations, such as a beautiful gold sleigh you can sit in, and large picture frames decorated with garland.
Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food and household items to this event for the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry. Requested items include nonperishable food items, paper goods, personal care items, baby formula, and diapers. All items can be placed in the designated boxes located at each of the Prairie Center entrances.
