Intimately getting to know our neighbors in the natural world, be they plants, animals, rocks, rivers, trees, wind directions, weather patterns, etc., is an invaluable, universal, ancient tenet of humanity. Uncivilized humans throughout time have depended on their intimate relationships with the other living and nonliving members of the community of life to thrive. Tree identification is a key human skill and intrinsic to the rewilder's path.Tree identification is easier in spring and summer, when trees are beginning to open up their buds and leaves! Let's connect, get outside on a summer afternoon, and learn to employ simple techniques to effectively identify most trees by their location, bark appearance, buds, leaves, and silhouettes or growth patterns.
Donations of $5-15 will be graciously accepted. Rewild Maine is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We depend on donations from the community to offer free classes and workshops and we are grateful for your support. Scholarships are available for paid classes on an as-needed basis and nobody will ever be turned away for lack of funds. All donations are tax-deductible.
