A one day certificated course for adults working with children & young people in the outdoors.About this Event
About the event
Tree ID and activities for Forest school certificated course:
By the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify common native trees and their leaves, bark, flowers, fruit and seeds.
- Know some useful, edible and poisonous species
- Discover crafts, games and activities to build knowledge and connection
This training day runs from 10am-3pm in an outdoor setting.
What will I need for the course?
Please make sure you bring the following with you:
- A form of photo identification eg driving license or passport
- Plate/bowl, cutlery, cup and snacks
- Something to add to the pot for a pot luck stew at lunch
- Suitable outdoor clothing for the weather conditions (trousers, not shorts)
- Stout shoes or boots. Please do not wear sandals.
- A camera or camera phone can be useful for recording some of the activities
We will be provide:
- Tea coffee and biscuits
- A warm fire and cooking pot
- All tools and equipment for the outdoor tasks (N.B. For a variety of reasons we would ask you not to bring your own tools)
