Tree Canada's National Tree Day Planting Event in Edmonton

Tree Canada is excited to plant trees with the Edmonton community in honour of National Tree Day. Come out and celebrate with us!
Tree Canada is excited to celebrate National Tree Day (NTD), presented by BMO . This is the biggest NTD celebration yet, with planting events taking place across the country on both the Wednesday and Saturday of National Forest Week.
Join us to plant trees in your community and connect with nature. Volunteers will plant 1,000 native trees and participate in interactive activities such as a game of Treevia! Participants can also take home a wildflower provided by Root for Trees . Tree Canada experts and volunteers will be there to provide support and answer your tree questions. We’ll also provide gloves and shovels! This event is completely FREE!
How you'll be making an impact
We are thrilled to continue our support for the greening of Hermitage Park! This event aims to increase the connectivity of Edmonton's urban forest!
Free Food:
This is a catered event! Volunteers can grab a snack and beverage, courtesy of Starbucks .
What to wear and bring:
Volunteers should wear and bring the following:
-Water bottle
-Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots
-Long pants
-Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
-Sunscreen
-Bug spray
-Hat
This rain or shine event will take place unless the forecast calls for thunderstorms or very heavy rainfall.

Meeting Point:
Volunteers will meet at Hermitage Disc Golf Course .
Parking
Parking is available in the lot to the north from Hermitage Park Road.
Additional parking and site access available from Hyndman Crescent NW; however, visitors must walk down the hill.
Access via the pedestrian pathway is available from both the parking lot and Hyndman Crescent.
Terrain:
Flat terrain. The soil is fairly easy to dig in.
Amenities:
Portable and accessible toilets will be available on site. Additional washrooms available in Hermitage Park nearby.
