Psychiatrists from Northpark Private Hospital will present the latest evidence-based best practices, offer key insights and case studies, and be available to answer your questions on:

1) Dementia – To increase GPs' knowledge of common types of Dementia and identify patients presenting with symptoms by sharing current up-to-date information around symptoms, diagnosis and treatments. Presented by Dr. Omid Dashtegoli– MD, MMed, FRANZCP, Cert. Old Age Psych.

2) Treatment Resistant Depression - Educate the general practitioners about the Treatment Resistant Depression. Causes, and clinical presentations. Presented by Dr Samir Ibrahim–OAM FRANZCP, MBBS, MD (PSYCHIATRY)

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this activity, GPs will be able to

• Discuss the prevalence of the most common types of dementias
• Describe clinical presentation of different types of dementias and their diagnosis
• Explain the role of TMS and ECT in managing treatment resistant depression
