Professor Andrew Stauffer and Sir Drummond Bone discuss the life and letters of the Romantic poet Lord Byron.
About this Event

Andrew Stauffer discusses his new biography 'Byron: A Life in Ten Letters' with Sir Drummond Bone.

This year marks the 200th anniversary of Byron's death. A selection of Byron's letters to Mary Shelley will be on display as part of our 'Treasures' exhibition until September 2024.

Lord Byron was described as “mad, bad, and dangerous to know”, and is a celebrated Romantic poet. Troubled, handsome, sexually fluid, disabled, and transgressive, he wrote his way to international fame—and scandal—before finding a kind of redemption in the Greek Revolution.
