“Traveling Thru Time: Sonya Sutton and Choir in Concert” will be hosted at St. Luke’s on October 17th at 7 p.m.! Organist and Anglican musician Sonya Sutton will be performing, joined by a Concert Choir of choristers from the St. Luke’s Choir and the greater Jamestown area. We will sing hymn favorites accompanied by Sonya’s stories of the hymns and her organ talent! The choir will volley their hymn tunes with Sonya’s solo organ pieces including composers Bach (18th century), Widor (19th century) and 20th Century composers Martinson and Howell, who famously wrote the tune for “All My Hope on God is Founded.” Karen Hewes Suber will also be joining Sonya in a rare piano/organ duet performing a piece by living composer Gerald Near. Free will donations will benefit the Ron McEntire Scholarship Fund which helps train youth in church musicianship.
