Michael, a First UU lay leader, will present on the recent Erie Canal Songfest where his "An Erie Canal Trilogy" was premiered by Colin Aberdeen, Donna Dennihy, Colleen Kattau, and Jon Peterson, along with other songs. Michael's trilogy explores the canal's history and legacy through Syracuse, with particular focus on its impact on the Indigenous Haudenosaunee and 'right relations.' He'll describe it and reflect on the profound effect the year-long process of research, writing, and producing had upon him. Video of Colleen performing one of the songs will be shown.
