✈ Another travel night in Prostor is a story about the Whale Song Revolution - Expedition to Tonga by Sara Nikšić. Save the date: Wednesday, December 10th, 19h

Sara Niksic, also known as Inner Child, is a marine biologist, ecologist, bioacoustician, musician, music producer, storyteller and educator. For over a decade she has been studying whales, music and developing innovative ways of education. Canticum Megapterae is her interdisciplinary project that blends music, art, science and education to raise awareness about the cultural lives of whales, who are far more like us than we often realize. Canticum Megapterae – Song of the Humpback Whale (2019) was an award-winning electronic music album created in collaboration with artists from around the globe. It was followed by Canticum Megapterae II – The Evolution (2022), which dived deeper into the mysteries of whale song culture.
In August Sara went to Tonga - an island country in Polynesia, part of Oceania - to record new whale songs to complete the trilogy with the most ambitious project yet: Canticum Megapterae III – The Revolution. After exploring all of the world’s oceans, in Tonga she finally got to meet the whales up close and personal. The whole trip was like a dream, and she is now diving into producing the album with all the recordings she gathered, along with new insights into the lives of whales.

✈ Travel nights in Prostor are for all travel lovers but also for anyone interested in learning about other cultures, meeting like minded people, exchanging knowledge, tips and simply socialising.

✈ It’s an informal storytelling event in which someone who travelled to an interesting place in the world tells its story - good things and the bad, amazing discoveries as well as challenges.
