Trauma happens in our body when we experience events that are too overwhelming for us. At some point in our lives we will all experience trauma & the natural responses our body responds to trauma with. In some cases, where the natural responses are interrupted, trauma can be held in the body & later become symptoms of Trauma. This may look like 'disorders' known to us as PTSD, Anxiety or Depression amongst many others or show up as medically unexplained pain, Chronic Disease, Burnout or Emotional and Physical Stress.Trauma Informed Yoga is an informed approach towards understanding the impact of trauma on the mind and body. By adapting yoga into a trauma informed way, we can learn to re-stabilize internal responses to allow for the natural healing processes to begin.
Our 12 week programme allows space to stabilize the nervous system & map our internal responses while remaining in our window of tolerance helping you approach safety in your body.
During the programme we will aim to stabilise, process & integrate techniques and the understanding of your own internal responses. Allowing you to befriend your nervous system & bring safety back to you.
Each intake is limited to a very small amount of participants (max 4) to provide a safe connection within a group.
Upon booking, an intake form will be sent to you to ensure suitability for the course.
Should your intake form require further discussion, you will be invited to join a free 30 minute discovery call to learn more regarding your requirements.
Should we feel your requirements are not suitable for the 12 week programme, we will discuss this with you to help find a referral, a full refund will be given.
Course Outline
Throughout the 12 weeks, we will focus on Grounding, Befriending the Nervous System, Self Regulation & Integration. There will be opportunities to learn about the nervous system and how this might translate for yourself to aid in recognising the body's signals as well as techniques to aid in bringing your awareness back to the present safely.
It is our hope that you are able to open your window of tolerance & feel more connected to the present.
Participants will not be asked to share their trauma histories or to process their memories. You may wish to have a talking therapist alongside the course though it is not a prerequisite.
Any missed sessions may require private sessions at an additional fee to continue the programme.
