Trauma Informed Play Therapy Interventions

This course will specifically focus on play therapy interventions that can be applied in trauma-focused work with children, adolescents, and families. We will review how trauma effects development including brain development and how this presents both emotionally and behaviorally. We will further discuss how trauma effects the family system as well as external systems in which the child exists. We will discuss and engage in play therapy interventions that can be applied in direct clinical work in a trauma-informed way.
We will continue to discuss how to specifically set up your play therapy space and play therapy interventions to always be trauma sensitive.
