About this Event
Whether you are a therapist in private practice or an organizational leader, prioritizing a healthy work-life balance and nurturing a thriving organizational culture is fundamental.
This training draws connections between understanding cumulative stress, trauma impact, and the necessity of avoiding amygdala triggers to avert burnout and decreased productivity. A key component of the training includes identifying four main strategies leaders typically resort to under stress. By recognizing these behaviors, leaders can better assess their responses and adapt their approach to support colleagues effectively, fostering a collaborative environment through practicing trauma-informed principles.
Participants will deepen their comprehension of the implications of trauma and allostatic load on individuals and teams. The content underscores how awareness of such factors, coupled with insight into leaders’ stress responses, streamlines the integration of trauma-informed strategies into leadership—promoting resilience, nurturing relationships, and creating a healing-oriented workplace culture. The training positions a relational cultural framework alongside these strategies, advocating mutuality and continued growth to build authentic and supportive relationships across the workspace.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the psychological effects of trauma, allostatic load, and the stress-response strategies leaders default to (the Controller, Distractor, Isolator, Pleaser).
- Articulate the four main stress responses leaders employ and how these can affect team cohesion and trust.
- Apply the principles of a trauma-informed work environment more effectively, ensuring support of colleagues in ways that align with best practices in trauma-informed care.
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and self-regulation while managing trauma responses within teams.
